Head of Accounting (f/m/x)

Hamburg / Remote
Full-time
Permanent employee

The role

We have big plans at Tomorrow! Our vision: take sustainable finance out of its niche and bring it into the mainstream. That's a hell of a lot of work – so let's get to it.

As Head of Accounting, you take full ownership of all accounting processes at Tomorrow end to end. You're the central point of contact for all accounting matters in the company and actively drive the automation of our accounting processes, particularly through the use of AI tools.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Monthly bookkeeping: invoice management and preliminary account allocation in Spendesk (incoming invoice workflow, approvals), as well as the complete, independent posting of all business transactions in DATEV (account allocation, verification, entry)
  • Ensuring monthly and annual closings are on time, including reconciliation of closing entries – our monthly closings are reliably ready by the 11th of the following month
  • Handling and monitoring payment transactions
  • Central point of contact for all accounting matters – internally and with our tax office and auditors
  • Supporting the annual audit: you provide documentation and clarify auditor queries
  • Continuously developing and automating our accounting processes, especially by introducing and driving AI tools

What we're looking for

  • A commercial or accounting qualification, ideally as a certified tax clerk (Steuerfachangestellte*r), and experience financial accounting
  • A strong affinity for numbers, an independent and structured way of working, and openness to digital, paperless processes
  • Very good DATEV skills, good Excel skills and ideally experience with Spendesk
  • Fluent in German and English
  • You support the idea of creating a better future for everyone by using money as a force for good.

What we offer

It will be fun too, we promise! Together with more than 50 like-minded colleagues, you will work every day to win people over to sustainable finance. Our culture is based on our values, our active new work philosophy and clear, ambitious goals. But the best way to get to know us is to come and meet us and experience Tomorrow for yourself.

Salary

50,000–65,000 EUR gross per year

Transparency is Queen (and King). This is why we indicate a salary range for all jobs. Once we have got to know you better in an interview, we will be able to assess you individually and find out where you fit in our transparent salary matrix.

You want to work remotely?

We want to give everyone at Tomorrow the opportunity to organize their personal life and working hours flexibly and in keeping with their own requirements. Working from home and mobile work are integral parts of our remote-friendly work culture. At the same time, we believe in the huge advantages of meeting up and working together in person, so we ask you to come into our Hamburg office regularly, at least two days per month. The office is available to you any time. It is wheelchair-accessible, has ground-level access and offers flexible options for designing your workspace.

What's the next step?

We'd like to welcome you to our community.
That is why we want to engage with you at eye level and invite you to come as you are - even if you think you don’t fit all the requirements yet.

If you're interested in working with us we need the following from you:

  • Your resume, without photo or birth information
  • Your salary expectations and earliest possible starting date.
  • A few sentences about your motivation to build the banking of tomorrow with us
Besides, we would appreciate it if you let us know how you would like to be addressed (pronoun / preferred name) so that we can take that into account throughout the application process.
