Als Senior (Security) Platform Engineer*in bist du Teil des Platform Teams und für die Verfügbarkeit und Weiterentwicklung unserer Cloud-Infrastruktur verantwortlich, die den Unterbau unserer Produktinfrastruktur bildet. Dabei arbeitest du für die Planung, Priorisierung und Umsetzung eng mit den Produktteams, anderen Organisationseinheiten und externen Partnern wie der Solaris SE zusammen - unter anderem durch aktive Beteiligung an Refinements und Planning-Meetings. Du unterstützt die DevOps Engineers in den Produktteams, bist ein*e wichtige*r Ansprechpartner*in bei der Bearbeitung von Incidents innerhalb des Engineering Teams und hilfst dabei, nachhaltige und sichere Lösungen zu entwickeln.

Ein besonderer Fokus dieser Rolle liegt auf der kontinuierlichen Verbesserung der Sicherheit unserer Plattform. Wenn du darin (noch) nicht spezialisiert bist, aber großes Interesse hast, dein Know-how im Bereich Platform Security zu vertiefen, freuen wir uns trotzdem über deine Bewerbung!
Was Du mitbringen solltest

  • Mehrjährige Berufserfahrung im Bereich Platform oder DevOps und idealerweise ein Informatik (oder ähnliches) Studium

  • Mehrjährige Erfahrung mit AWS oder einem vergleichbaren Anbieter

  • Routinierter Umgang mit Kubernetes (kubectl, Helm), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) und CI/CD-Pipelines (GitLab)

  • Erfahrung mit Tools wie Grafana, Prometheus,OpenSearch, Docker, Datenbanken (idealerweise PostgreSQL) und sicher in der Shell

  • Idealerweise:

    • Erfahrung mit NGINX, Kafka (Pub/ Sub) und verteilten Systemen, Microservices oder Softwarearchitektur

    • Erfahrung in Security Design Reviews, Threat Modelling, Penetration Testing, Code Reviews sowie SCA/SAST/DAST-Assessments und automatisierten Vulnerability Scans 

    • Fähigkeit, in Teams und Communities of Practice in Start-up-Umgebungen einen Unterschied zu machen (z.B. mit Erfahrung in Privileged Access Management (PAM) und Security Information and Event Management (SIEM))

  • Offenheit für neue Aufgaben und Herausforderungen und Freude am selbstständigen Einarbeiten in neue Themen.

  • Verantwortungsbewusstes Handeln sowie sorgfältiger, ruhiger Umgang mit kritischer Infrastruktur und Incident-Situationen

  • Teamübergreifende Kommunikationsfähigkeit und offener, konstruktiver Umgang mit unterschiedlichen Perspektiven.

  • Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse

  • Du stehst hinter der Idee, Geld als Hebel für positiven Wandel zu nutzen und brennst darauf, mit uns zusammen ein besseres Morgen für alle zu gestalten.

Vergütung
67.000 - 85.000 Euro Jahresbrutto + einmalig 5.000 Euro in Virtual Shares

The role

As our Senior (Security) Platform Engineer, you will be part of the Platform team and take responsibility for the availability and further development of our cloud infrastructure, which forms the basis of our product infrastructure. For the planning, prioritization, and implementation, you will work closely with the product teams, other organization units and external partners like Solaris SE – by actively participating in refinements and planning meetings, for example. You will support the DevOps Engineers in the product teams, act as an important designated contact for the processing of incidents within the engineering team, and also help to develop sustainable and secure solutions. 

A particular focus of this role lies in continuously strengthening the security of our platform. If you haven’t specialised in this area (yet) but are excited to deepen your expertise in platform security, we’re still very much looking forward to your application!
What we're looking for

  • Several years of work experience in the platform or DevOps sector – ideally with a background in IT or a related field

  • Strong experience working with AWS or a comparable cloud provider

  • Proficient in using Kubernetes (kubectl, Helm) in daily operations, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab)

  • Experienced user of tools like Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch, Docker and databases (ideally PostgreSQL) – and you feel right at home in the Shell

  • Ideally:

    • experienced with NGINX, Kafka (Pub/Sub), distributed systems, microservices or software architecture

    • proficient in threat identification and remediation measures such as security design reviews, threat modelling, penetration testing, code reviews, SCA/SAST/DAST assessments, and (automated) vulnerability scanning

    • demonstrated ability to drive impact across teams and Communities of Practice in startup environments (e.g. with experience in Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM))

  • Curious and eager to take on new topics and challenges, always ready to dive in and explore

  • Reliable and calm when it comes to handling critical infrastructure – especially in incident situations

  • Open-minded in communication and constructive in navigating different perspectives across teams

  • Actively share knowledge, for example through Communities of Practice 

  • Strong English skills – written and spoken

  • You stand behind the idea of using money as a lever for positive change and are passionate about joining us in creating a better future for everyone.

Salary
67.000 - 85.000 Euro annual gross + one-time 5.000 EUR in virtual shares
